This seal is specially made to accommodate the high crank revolution speeds of the engine. The original seal was designed for the Ferguson Tractor engine with a shaft speed less than half of the TR engine. Exceeding the shaft speed as you certainly would with the original Land Rover seal used in some other kits, dulls the seal lip and it leaks. The neoprene seal is rated up to 7,000 rpm.The crank scroll must be machined off to give a diameter of 63.5mm. Seal can be purchased separately, see BEN122.
